Registration Open from 8.30 at Stair Village hall for collection of race numbers for preentered athletes
Parking ONLY in designated area as directed/signed for the event – please DO NOT park on any of the
country lanes in Newlands Valley – these are already congested; inconsiderate parking could
jeopardise future events. There will be a charge for parking, £TBC, towards a local charity.
Road Safety None of the junior race routes use public roads, but the event start and finish is <1km walk up a narrow public highway tarmac road, from Stair Village Hall to Skelgill. Please do NOT drive on this road at any point during the day – there will be many pedestrians on it. This road will not be closed to the public; your safety when using it is your responsibility
Mountain Safety All of these junior races are on extremely steep terrain. The U9-U13 routes are
mostly on grass/bracken slopes, with some ridgetop running along wide paths for all but the U9s. The
U15-U19 routes include short sections of steep but obvious and simple scrambling. Do not enter these
races if that, or the photographs provided, are daunting. Equipment requirements and weather
forecast will be provided on the day, but all athletes should come adequately prepared for sudden
onset of cold, wet, or windy weather.
Senior Races As part of the same event there are TWO popular senior fell races on the same day. It
will be busy; and hopefully a great atmosphere. Please help make the combined events courteous
and friendly and be aware that elite adult athletes may be warming up/ racing nearby, particularly
using the road from Skelgill to Stair, from 12:20 onwards.
Marshals, Flags, Signs Routes will be marked, and key turns will be marshalled. There are no gates.
First Aid Cover Suitably qualified volunteers have agreed to provide first aid assistance during the race. If
you can add to this cover, please make yourself known at the Event HQ.
